Love how this project marries two aspects of nature together, no, make it three: lavender, bees, and the state of Maine! 🐝 🪻🦞
Did you know 30% of Glendarragh is home to native species of bees and other pollinators?
Glendarragh provides diverse habitat for bees, butterflies, moths, fireflies, and dragonflies, as well as others. Increasing Glendarragh's pollinator-friendly acreage to 50 percent is our goal.
This is so unique the USDA has asked us to avoid adding hives to protect native pollinators living in the fields and fallen trees in our woodlands and adjacent land trust.
What's more, we've been provided a blueprint to help feed them! There are many ways to help this population of beneficial insects thrive — and starting this year you can participate!
The Purple Bee Project is part of Glendarragh's regenerative approach
Glendarragh strives to follow regenerative practices, adding to our commitment to be all-natural and to use environmentally friendly glass and metal packaging. Lavender, already drought-tolerant and disease-resistant and a rich pollen source, is a perfect crop for giving back to the bees and other pollinators who help Glendarragh, Maine, and our planet bloom.

We are committed to giving ground solely for pollinator benefit, without harvest, and making Glendarragh among a small number of companies committed to giving back more than harvest and production processes take from the environment.
Your active participation in the Glendarragh Purple Bee Project will ensure success!
