The most-endangered bumble bee in the United States, this is the bee that started our quest to improve Glendarragh's pollinator habitat with the USDA after seeing rust-colored bumbles in our high tunnel in 2019. The species has been documented where Waldo and Knox counties meet, which may explain the ones we saw at Glendarragh. Commit to planting half a patch (54 plants) for this most-deserving, most-threatened native bee, the first bee to be listed as an endangered species by the US Fish & Wildlife Service in 2017.
